Viewing Points in Lisbon

Viewing Points in Lisbon (1F)

Lisbon, known as the city of seven hills, offers the opportunity to take incredible photos from its viewing points (miradouros in Portuguese). If the charm of the city makes itself felt every time you take a photograph, when you take the time to enjoy the sunrise or sunset from these lookouts, the moment really is magical.

The writer Fernando Pessoa was a great lover of Lisbon, and knew exactly how to convey his passion for it: “On seven hills, observation points from which to contemplate such magnificent panoramas, the broad, irregular and multicoloured range of houses that make up Lisbon sweeps down”.

The “Sao Pedro de Alcantara” viewing point, in the Bairro Alto, that of “Santa Luzia”, above the Alfama area and the Tajo, or the lesser known “Nossa Senhora do Monte” viewing point, in the Graça district, are compulsory stops on the itinerary of any true fan of Lisbon.
