International Center of Photography

International Center of Photography (85)

If you love photography, you should not miss this museum under any circumstances.

Since its opening in 1974, the International Center of Photography, better known as the ICP, has exhibited the works of the best photographers in the world. Among the over 100,000 photographs that make up its permanent collection, you will find masterpieces by Henri Cartier-Bresson, Alfred Eisenstadt and James VanDerZee, as well as by photographers from the Farm Security Administration, such as Walker Evans. In addition, you will also find contemporary artists such as Justine Kurland, Tomoko Sawada and Susan Meiselas, among others. The truth is that its collection of more than 100,000 photographs is so extensive and complete that you will find all possible styles and formats, from daguerreotypes to digital photo prints.

At the ICP, you will also find a collection of photographs and illustrated magazines published between the First and Second World War in publications such as LIFE, Picture Post and Lilliput. Do not miss them.

We also recommend visiting the museum’s extensive library and taking a look around its gift store. The mementos that you can buy here are of very good quality. You will find it all, from art books to photography prints for decorating your room.
